A maximum is the amount of money, per person on the plan, that your plan will pay for a benefit. Some plans pay by the calendar year (i.e., January to December) and some run on a consecutive month basis for example, $500 maximum every 24 months. Once that maximum has been reached, claims will not be covered by your plan until the benefit year restarts.
