An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is a summary of how your claim was processed. It includes:
-
Any deductibles, co-payments, or maximums applied
-
Details that may be needed for tax purposes
-
Information useful for coordinating coverage (e.g., with a spouse’s plan)
After your claim is approved, you’ll get an email notification. From your account, you can view or print your EOB statement online.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) may accept an EOB statement instead of a receipt when filing medical expense claims. We recommend checking CRA’s current guidelines or consulting a tax professional to confirm.
